Zelenskyy: Receiving standing ovation. He looks exhausted, but big smiles. Pelosi declaring the US respect and admiration for Zelenskyy. No thought about giving up. Destiny of his country is being decided. Fight for their freedom and to choose their futures. Reminding them of Pearl Harbor and 9/11, when we were attacked from the air. Asking again for no-fly zone. Offers alternative, aircraft to help them defend, air defense systems. Asking all countries to leave Russian market because it's "filled with our blood." Close all Russian ports. Need newer tools that respond quicker. Talking about a global assistance committee that can respond quicker to global issues, conflicts, vaccines, etc. Showing video of what's happening, very graphic. Before and after pics. Video ends with "close the sky over Ukraine." Reminds of the over 100 children who have been lost and questions if life is worth that. Another standing ovation as he waves goodbye.

I'm listening to the news this morning, and it's not a surprise that the Russians have targeted Odesa and probably had been for a while. That seals off the southern part of Ukraine where they had seized control of the Black Sea already.

I find it unhelpful when the media and other politicians talk of Russia paying back the cost of the destruction of Ukraine, and how they will finance it when the war is still raging. Forward thinking is one thing, but talking about repairs when damage continues and where it could be worse is not constructive, for the focus is on preventing further damage in the first place.

My children and their children have just left and as I clean the dishes I think about the children and parents of Ukraine. My family loved their dinner of braised steak and onions. So simple, just steak, onions ,salt and pepper and braised for hours. It was nice. I tidy up and think about the children and families. To be there and provide such a simple meal!! I would be honoured to do that.

I had hoped by now one of Putin's Generals would have had the courage to deal with him and frankly, I don't care how, although it would be good to see him in The Hague on trial.

I do not wish any harm to Poland but if a Russian missile landed in Poland, even if was just in a car park, I fail to see how NATO could not intervene.

Putin wants to keep Ukraine out of NATO but this stupid little man cannot see that he has now made it impossible for Ukraine NOT to be in NATO to protect them from him.

Putin says that Russians and Ukrainians are "brothers" so why send troops hell bent on mass murder. Is that the way to treat your brothers? If he cannot see that then I do wonder if he really is off his trolley as many people suspect. That makes his Government even more culpable for what has happened.

I think this conflict will redefine NATO and what it actual purpose is. The point is, when faced with an international crisis that NATO's existence is supposed to deter, they haven't stepped up and handled the challenge.

The people who set it up 73 years ago had guts because they had been through at least one world war and knew what was needed to survive. Those in NATO today are more concerned about publicity, their careers, and appeasing the public.

Thank you EL for another timely up-date. Yes, President Kelensky pleaded with our Canadian parliament today. In speaking of the horror which the Ukrainian people are suffering, he said, "We are not asking for much. We're asking for justice, for real support." He asked Canadians to imagine bombs falling on our cities, and when asking for others to 'please close the sky, please close the airspace', our friends say, 'Please hold on a little longer'.

It's heartbreaking to hear his words on the 20th day of the invasion, with so many dead, injured and displaced to learn that President Biden will meet NATO and EU leaders NINE DAYS FROM NOW to discuss this CRISIS.
