Life in Russia is getting more oppressive, of course they back Putin, they know nothing else, and if they do, they won’t say for fear of what may happen to them and their families.

There is no freedom, they are back as they were just after the deposing of the Tsar, but with a slightly better standard of living.

Russia is worried about getting enough ships to export oil, while everyday Ukrainian families are trying to cook food for their children and stay warm with most of Ukraine in blackout waiting for reconnection. The ABC in Australia remarked the only blacker is the Black Sea. We see doctors in hospitals trying to save newborns. Do we care about Putin's shipping problem and the possibility of damage to oil and gas pipelines, as well as, Russia's loss of revenue? As stated on the ABC, Putin is barbaric! Maybe if everyday Russians suffer a little of what their President is subjecting civilianstoo in the Ukraine, they'd pressure Putin to retreat!

We all accept and know that propaganda is important in war, however, to allow (worse still order) deliberate atrocities that you know are CRIMES should motivate the Russian people to be outraged at Putin and his cronie's behaviour because they will and their descendants suffer the ignominy globally for centuries in the future. Russia will have few friends, maybe Iran, but it seems Iran hates the West.
