Trump wants that mineral deal with Ukraine just as he envisions obtaining ALL Canada's natural resources, including gas, oil, timber and hydro (among others) by annexing the sovereign country to become the U.S. 51st state. All Canadian political party leaders have told Trump THAT is a non-starter.
He also wants the natural resources of Greenland and his threats to Denmark to take /“buy” Greenland put him in the same category of empire-building dictator as Putin himself. This Trump involvement in Ukraine is all about the deal and what he can grab for the USA by threats and unlawful pressure. I hope Zelensky stands firm and refuses ANY deal unless and until there is a fair and just resolution to the Russian invasion. Trump - who wants to then have the time to focus on his problems re China seems not to realise that Xhi and Putin are bosom buddies and that appeasing Russia will embolden China to make a grab for Taiwan as well as other parts of the South China Sea. My view has always been that Ukraine should have been allowed to join NATO long ago.
I hope Americans are waking up to the fact that their current government is bullying a country that has been invaded into signing deals that benefit them and no one else really. Having read some of the threats they have made to Ukraine, no meeting unless you sign this deal kind of thing, I find it highly unprofessional and the Trump administration aren't even denying it either.
And totally immoral , corrupt and unbefitting the leader of a country which rightly prides itself as being the land of the free. Such freedom is not to be granted to a sovereign country invaded by an evil dictator and oppressor. Europe itself is now at risk because of the greedy collaboration of an American president with the Russian tyrant.
