I don't think Elon Musk's reputation will survive what could be interpreted as an ego dummy spit.

It seems that he has realised this and appears to accept that he must fund Starlink and make a loss, moaning other companies make a profit. He would have the blood on millions on his hands if he stopped now in the middle of the war. It's unheard of to even comment on such a thing in the middle of the war over money.

During the Second World War, nearly every single country was in debt, but it was lives that mattered. Musk seems to fail to understand that. Send him to Donetsk for the day.

Lives DID MATTER back in those days, even though countries were suffering the affect of the great depression of the 1930's.

Simply naive of me I know, but surely the UN should be able to offer protection for the neutral Red Cross to be able to visit prisoners-of-war who were taken by the Russians while ignoring international law.

Maybe this indicates a lack of confidence in the power of the UN to enforce international law. I am naive! It astounds me every day that I read Ex Libris all the complexities involved.

You hit the nail on the head. They do not trust the Russians because they know the Russians do not adhere to or respect international law. That's why the UN looks weak and has little credibility. They helped negotiate the grain deal because it suited them too as they needed grain for their food program, but did they help in Mariupol? No, and have they reprimanded Russia in the UN? Not really either, suspending them from the Human Rights council is not a huge deal as they didn't adhere to the laws anyway.

We all know only a direct NATO intervention will work. Ukraine can liberate all the land occupied, but now with Belarus claiming they are being threatened by Ukraine and joining Russian troops along the border it has escalated.

Belarus in the north changes things as much of the fighting has been in the south, and is much closer to Kyiv where Zelenskyy is the target.

I agree with you both, that WWIII started already and is contained, so far, in Ukraine. For the life of me, I just don't understand under what delusions both Russia and Belarus operate to think that Ukraine's defensive operations are threatening???
