One thing that confuses me. Putin clearly knows he's in control of Nato and the West because of their fears of escalation. If he doesn't have the same fear, what is stopping him from next saying if countries don't stop providing weapons and funds, he'll go nuclear? He has to know all these weapons being provided to the Ukraine have prevented him from accomplishing his goal quickly. For that matter, he could make the same threat because of all the sanctions. What is it about troops on the ground and/or the no fly zone, that has become his line in the sand?
