I agree the news these days is very depressing with so many bewildering intrusions. There was a time when we were experiencing a royal visit to Canada "it" would trump everything else. Not today though. The three day visit of Prince Charles and Camilla is pre-empted by news of gas prices, politics, inflation, etc. and just barely getting a mention twenty or so minutes into a news show. I do appreciate your reports E-L; while I am following the Ukrainian news we get locally, I do rely on your reports for timely and accurate information; thank you.
Oh EL, I read your reports and they help me understand all the propaganda and fake news, but I am still confused. Why would Putin do this, apart from because he thinks he can, just like any playground bully. I fear the soldiers and people taken to Russia will not be treated well and possibly forced into publicly backing the Russian invasion, who knows?
What will the future be with them always lurking internet the background like some gang, waiting to pounce on smaller children and take their dinner money or worse, beat them up. At some point the democratic is going to have to choose, stand up or get walked over, I know what I wish the, to do but so many agreements have to have 100% support that I feel it will be left to those countries who stand alone to do anything.
