Two claims made by Iran, or rather the Ayotollah Ali Khamenei in support of and defending Russia's invasion of Ukraine that you mention are ludicrous and defy logic: "... if Russia had not invaded Ukraine, NATO may have attacked Russia", and " ... the West is preventing Russia from developing as an independent state."
