Zelenskyy Fires All The Heads Of Military Conscription
The UK and Ukraine discuss security guarantees
Day 534 (11 August)
Ukraine have always admitted there has been an issue with conscription and several people had been caught being bribed to falsify papers stating someone was medically unfit to serve in the army. This is one of the problems I have with Ukraine in that many men either left Ukraine because they didn't want to fight, and others who paid to avoid fighting. So, despite all the weapons being delivered, who is going to fight and replace the thousands who have already died? All you have left are the ones who tried to dodge conscription, so how can you defeat Russia with that kind of army? I recall seeing images of Kyiv with people sitting outside enjoying life after the missile strikes and the first thing I thought, is why are all these young men out in bars and clubs at night when they should be fighting? The corruption only came to light after a year due to an inspection, even though there have been arrests for doctors and others falsifying records more than 6 months ago.
Zelenskyy has fired all the heads of military conscription and they will be replaced with those who have military experience. There are currently 33 suspects with 112 charges against them. Conscription obviously failed as many men left Ukraine when they weren’t supposed to, and people have paid for forged documents to avoid fighting. What they fail to realise is by doing so they simply make Ukraine look corrupt and will delay any membership processes for the EU and NATO that they desire.
We are dismissing all regional military commissars. The system should be run by people who know exactly what war is, and why cynicism and bribery is a timer for as high treason.
The Netherlands are supplying Ukraine with 6 mobile medical complexes. While this helps with the injured, it doesn’t increase the Ukrainian troops and they need more soldiers and you can’t magic them out of thin air which is why NATO intervention will be inevitable if Russia use soldiers from other countries to increase their numbers.
A Russian office has fled to Lithuania and to claim asylum. Unless he has information that is vital to NATO and Ukraine, it could be a false flag. Reports also claim that many Russian officer have committed suicide rather than to face the potential repercussions of the special tribunal being set up to hold Russia to account for alleged war crimes.
Day 535 (12 August)
The training of Ukrainian pilots for the F-16s has been delayed, and the reports states that 6 will be trained and 2 reserves. The estimates are that they will not be ready to fly until summer 2024, which is 10-12 months away. Critics of the allies and NATO have stated that Ukraine need weapons now, and the latest technology. Analysts also state that the allies are willing to support Ukraine to defend itself but are not supporting them to defeat Russia as they are two separate things.
What is the intent of NATO and the allies? Is it to help Ukraine defend itself so that a peace deal can be made? If so, then they are fooling themselves as Russia isn’t interested in any deal unless it means they can annex the occupied regions of Ukraine, and the main point of the war is to liberate the occupied regions and to prevent Russia from occupying more.
Ukraine needs to have their own long range missiles so that they can use them on Russian soil. Once troops and supplies arrive into Ukraine from Russia it creates a more difficult task to fight them, and while we understand why the allies have conditions on supplying weapons (they fear escalation) it also limits Ukraine’s ability to defeat the Russians.
The UK and Ukraine have begun discussions on security guarantees, with the aim of the agreement being made by the end of the year.
While I'm not naive enough to believe there is not corruption almost everywhere, it is always disturbing to hear of the corruption which exists in Ukraine, particularly when the country is at war.
