Putin signs a decree to deport people who refuse Russian citizenship in occupied areas
Day 428 (27 April)
At the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the Russian have created a defensive position by placing sandbags on the roofs of the reactor s. It’s an indication that they have no intention of leaving and will use the plant as a fortress.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal met with Pope Franc at the Vatican, and handed an album with photos of the incidents at Bucha and other cities. He was invited to visit Ukraine, but the Pope has said he will only visit if he can visit both Ukraine and Russia at the same time. The Pope will visit Hungary for an official visit which will be interesting given that Hungary has been silently supporting Russia during the war.
In an intercepted call, a Russian soldier admits to killing a prisoner of war by slitting their throat. This is evidence of a war crime, however, it is little consolation to those who have been killed. It seems that Russian soldiers don’t care if they are caught and to be frank, they know it will be hard to find them and then arrest them if they are in Russia. The Prosecutor General’s Office said it has at present 73 cases of intentional murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
In Melitopol, Oleksandr Mischenko, a Russian collaborator was killed in a car explosion. He had originally headed a police unit, then defected to the Russians and ‘tricked’ others into becoming traitors and to join him.
Lithuanian citizens are being targeted by Russian, Chinese and Belarusian agents to persuade them to spy for them. This is why Russian diplomats have been expelled from countries.
Day 429 (28 April)
The Slovak (Zuzana Chaputova) and Czech Republic presidents (Petr Pavel) made a joint unannounced visit to Kyiv and met with Zelenskyy and visited Bucha.
Petr Pavel met with Zelenskyy and said he would ensure talks to begin the EU ascension would happen before the end of the year.
More missile strikes across Ukraine, which include Kyiv and central Ukraine. In Oman, a residential building was targeted by a missile launched from the Caspian Sea and killed a number of civilians. Rescue teams are still in the area.
The EU has permitted the banning of imports of sunflower, rapeseed, corn, wheat, and sunflower oil on a temporary basis (until 5 June 2023) for 5 EU countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria)
Denmark has confirmed that there was a sighting of a Russian vessel near the Nord Stream pipeline before it exploded. The SS-750, which has a submarine was seen in the area prior to the sabotage in September 2022. The Danish took photos of the Russian vessel, 4 days before the incident on 22 September 2022.
According to Russian media, Putin is seeking to deport people in occupied regions of Ukraine if they renounce Russian citizenship, because they would be seen as a security threat. Where would they be deported to when they are in their own country? This is Putin forcing people to become Russian or to be shipped off to Russia.
