The Eighth Month Of The Invasion Of Ukraine
Iranian missiles hit Kyiv, while Russia accuses Ukraine of planning a 'dirty bomb'
We are now in the eighth month of the invasion of Ukraine, where Russia is using Iranian missiles launched from Belarus, that are attacking Kyiv and northern Ukraine on a daily basis. A group of 30 members of the US Congress signed an open letter requesting Biden to seek a diplomatic solution to the war. What they fail to understand is that it is not Biden's decision, but the decision of the Ukrainians. Ukrainians have requested assistance for weapons to help defend themselves and that is what the allies have done.
Less than 24 hours later, the letter has been withdrawn with claims that it had been written months ago and had not been vetted. Nothing to do with the backlash around the world, and those who signed are worried about their political careers?
Russian propaganda continues, with a television presenter allegedly stating that Ukrainian children should be drowned. Even that is a step too far and the presenter has been reprimanded, but it is an indication of how propaganda can influence the minds of the masses. The other propaganda story being spread is that Ukraine is planning to use a dirty bomb, which has been denied by Ukraine and a joint statement from the UK France and Germany was issued to state that they did not believe the accusation that was fed to them during Conversations with the Russian foreign minister on Sunday.
In the UK, there is a new prime minister, but it does not come with unity, nor does it come from a democratic place either. That is a concern, more than the ethnic origin or the age of the man – what is important is the qualities that man has, and ability to lead with integrity. Many Conservative party members, as opposed to Conservative MPs do not believe that Rishi Sunak is a man of integrity, and overnight many cancel the membership to the Conservative party and declared that they would not vote Conservative whilst he was the leader of the party. If a party can't even keep their own members, many who have been loyal for decades, then there is no chance of Sunak uniting the party or the country. Corruption exists everywhere, and this is something that Ukraine has been keen to address with public arrests of proxies and traitors to the country. It is sad that it is apparent that Sunak has been part of a coup to remove the elected leaders for the past couple of years.
The media has chosen not to actually report on the news, that many Conservative members have opted to cancel their membership and not to vote Conservative again, instead focusing on a couple of hundred MPs, who do not represent the masses. They are supposed to of course, but they don't because they can't see outside the Westminster bubble. Does this help Ukraine? At the start of the war, Sunak was reluctant to release funds to help Ukraine, but Boris was persistent and found a way. Now that Sunak is going to be the Prime Minister, he is not a similar to Macron who is good at doing the talk, but slow to act. That is not good for Ukraine or the world, even the security of the UK.
We are at a crucial point, where winter is upon us and the Russian missiles are targeting the Ukrainian energy systems to make sure that the Ukrainians suffer with no heat. That's in its self should be considered a a war crime, and we can all see the humanitarian crisis that is arising from these attacks, yet what has the UN done?
Day 243 (24 October )
The dirty bomb propaganda story is an attempt by Russia to blame the Ukrainians, and to try and justify their attacks on Ukraine, and to claim this was an act of provocation by the Ukrainians. The Ukrainian government has invited the IAEA to make independent inspections to prove that this is not the case.
The UK, USA, and France, have made a joint statement declaring that they do not believe the accusations made by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Shiogu.
Our countries made clear that we all reject Russia's transparently false allegations that Ukraine is preparing to use a dirty bomb on its own territory.
The world would see through any attempt to use this allegation as a pretext for escalation.
They also stated that they would continue to support Ukraine against the Russian invasion
Elon Musk has stated that the Starlink Internet service which his company SpaceX provides, would not be shut down regardless whether the US government assists with funding or not. To be perfectly frank, he had no moral choice in the matter, because the world would have turned against him. In addition, information stating that the cost of the service is paid in part from other sources such as other governments and entities negates the claim that SpaceX is funding the service alone.
To prove that Ukraine is addressing corruption, the SBU has published taped conversations that the boss of Motor Sich had with Russians. Vyacheslav Bohuslaiev was heard to offer equipment for the Russian helicopters that were used to carry out attacks in Ukraine. He also suggested using routes through Croatia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan to avoid detection and the sanctions.
Zelenskyy asks Israel to choose a side after it has stated it has chosen to be neutral. Many of the countries that have proclaimed they are neutral must eventually choose a side.
Russian has sent more troops to Kherson, reports claim. This might be to reverse the story that Russians are preparing to retreat, but for now these are reports claimed by both sides with no evidence of either as yet.
Day 244 (25 October)
The German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier, visits Kyiv today for the first time since the invasion of Ukraine. His train carriage has been decorated in the colours of Ukraine with pictures of the much-needed weapons (IRIS-T) placed around the tables as a subtle hint of what Ukraine needs to defend themselves.
The IAEA has said it is going to inspect to Ukrainian nuclear facilities in response to the Russian accusations that Ukraine has developed a dirty bomb.
The IAEA. inspected one of these locations a month ago and all the findings were consistent with Ukraine's safeguards declarations. No undeclared nuclear activities or materials were found there. (Grossi, head of IAEA)
The inspections are to be held at the request of Ukraine.
Azerbaijan has officially stated they have chosen to support Ukraine by calling Russia occupier and aggressor. They have further stated that Russia has committed crimes against humanity on national television.
Iranian drones continue to be used by the Russian, as Kyiv sees another day of missile attacks. Sanctions simply do not work, I do not appear to be a deterrent.
The UN Security Council is holding a closed meeting to discuss the Russian allegations of Ukraine developing a dirty bomb. Russia and China are not likely to be invited to the meeting, as they were not invited to the previous one discussing the Iranian drones.
INDEED, a critical and momentous time as Ukrainians face another winter of war.
And still Macron is urging peace talks with the Russian tyrant! Clearly he has no understanding of the spirit, soul and pride of a nation which has been illegally and cruelly invaded and terrorised. Plus ca change and all that!
