Another Ramstein meeting (13th), more talk on whether Ukraine will be offered accelerated NATO membership, and Ukraine is holding out for the ‘bird coalition’ after securing the tank coalition.
Back to the Kakhovka dam, and people are still being rescued while Ukraine prepares itself for the effects of water borne diseases. There is an obvious lack of drinking water, and as gas stations were flooded, it means that the oil and petrol has now leaked into the flood waters too.
An African delegation arrived in Kyiv and they had the full experience with an air raid siren as Russia greeted them with a few missile strikes. The delegation visited Bucha and laid wreaths and then proceeded to propose their version of a peace plan. All these countries that have supported Russia appear to have peace plans —don’t they realise that Ukraine has one already and doesn’t need other countries deciding their fate?
Day 477 (15 June)
Ukrainian POW from the Azov regiment who were captured in Mariupol have gone on trial in Russian. The charge is that they are a terrorist group and could face 15 years in prison or more. This is pure propaganda to help further the Kremlin narrative of saving Ukraine from the Nazis. The trial itself is illegal because they are POWs and need to be treated as such in line with the Geneva Convention.

Another Ramstein meeting was held in Brussels to discuss the allocation of weapons and ammunition and other tactical measures as Ukraine continues with the counteroffensive. Ukraine has called the request for jets the ‘bird coalition, and says there is an IT coalition.
Scholz is on records stating he will call Putin next week to ask him to withdraw the Russian troops out of Ukraine. Has he been paying attention? Putin will never do that unless he has no option.
Russia is planning to hold elections on 10 September 2023, in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporozhzia and Kherson.
Russian occupiers were found drowning after the latest Sussex shopping trip. They were later detained and are now POW.
Sweden has agreed to help establish a logistics centre in Poland to help with the repair of equipment. It will technically be a logistics centre for the Ukrainian army.
More corruption, the former deputy minister of the defence of Ukraine and former head of the public procurement. Department of the Ministry of defence has been charged with embezzlement. In March 2022 officials purchased low quality ammunition and also poor quality, bullet-proof vests for the armed forces. vests did not meet the standard necessary to be passed for use by the Ukrainian army.
Day 478 (16 June)
An African ‘peace mission’ delegation, which includes leaders from South Africa and Egypt arrived in Kyiv to meet with Zelenskyy. They have brought with them a proposed peace plan, which includes (allegedly) Russia withdrawing its troops from Ukraine and suspending the ICC arrest warrant on Putin. However, many African countries-quietly supporting Russia, are genuine the meeting me appear. These countries know that they must keep on the good side of the West for trading purposes at the very least.
They arrived as Russian began shelling Kyiv again, and then visited Bucha to lay wreaths for the victims of the massacre, and later presented a proposed peace plan. The delegation will move to St Petersburg on 17 June 2023, to meet with Putin.
Stolenberg has said that Ukraine’s NATO membership will not be discussed at the next NATO meeting in July, but instead the alliance will look at ways to fast track the application once Ukraine as won the war. The idea is to remove some of the more difficult conditions that are usually required and to dispense with a MAP (membership action plan). Finland bypassed this procedure too earlier this year as they joined NATO in record time.
Zelenskyy addressed the Swiss parliament and thanked them for the humanitarian aid and sanctions against Russia, but continued to ask for military support.
The Hungarian government has allegedly said they were not aware of the transfer of Ukrainian POW from Russia to Hungary.
The victims of the Kakhovka dam will receive about $136 (Hr 5,000) each. A small sum considering many have lost everything, however, Ukraine need to use money for weapons and defending the country right now.
Germany will provide 64 more Patriot systems immediately as it has made a difference to Ukrainian defences.
Around five Russian soldiers were stranded once the dam had been breached, and are now prisoners. They had been rescued by the Ukrainian volunteers, where the Russian soldiers were drowning and no one appeared to have sough said for them.
As expected, the dam devastation continues to grow.
