Tensions In Belarus With False Flag Incidents
Wagner set up a camp 40km from the Ukrainian border
When we look at this, we have Russia, a superpower invading a former Soviet state that it wishes to reclaim, and one where the idea of democracy was in its infancy and where the country was full of spies and corruption. How could Ukraine defeat a superpower with barely any weapons, and a country where not all the men are patriots and who either fled the country or paid for documents to get them excused from serving in the army?
After a couple of months of holding back the Russians, other countries who criticised Russia had hoped their silver tongues would stop the war. They all failed and had no choice but to offer some military aid. It has taken more than a year to get heavy equipment at the cost of thousands if not millions of lives. We do not know and will never know the true figure.
The question remains, how can Ukraine defeat Russia when they are drip fed overstock, or old weapons from the allies? Words and sanctions do not save lives and while they weaken Russia financially we all know there are other ways for the Russians to finance a war. The US and NATO are supporting Ukraine, but they are only giving them what they have to, and what they deem is necessary. IMHO, this will linger on until Ukraine is given weapons to put them on an equal footing with Russia, and that is not happening because NATO and the US are scared of escalation.
The war has officially spread to Belarus where Russia is effectively operating out of the country, where troops are being sent to the borders as a provocation tactic. Poland, Latvia and Lithuania had all been concerned about this and have reacted by deploying additional border patrols, and have closed some border points. Even having NATO membership is no substitute for taking preventative action. That’s why these countries have been supporting Ukraine so that the war would not spread to their land, but is this action enough?
Each day we hear more military aid will be donated, a few more tanks delivered, pilots will be trained on the F-16s after a year of begging for aircraft, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is always under siege and is on emergency power, Russia continues to block the Black Sea, more corruption is uncovered in Ukraine, more Russian spies or collaborators are detained in Ukraine and nearby countries. It’s the same each day and it’s a vicious circle where the war is being contained. While that happens, the hope is that the Ukrainian army will oust the Russians and liberate the occupied territories.
At the rate the Ukrainian army is going and with what weapons they have, we are looking at a decade of war unless NATO steps up. Crimea is the big one and Ukraine can cut off the access to mainland Russia, but then there is Donetsk, Mariupol, and Luhansk which are all large areas to liberate too. Simply put, Ukraine doesn’t have the weapons or the troops to liberate the occupied areas and force Russia out of Ukraine unless they have some secret troops that we don’t know about.
Day 531 (8 August)
Belarusian border guards allegedly punched a hole in the fence between Latvia to aid illegal migrants to enter the country on 6 August 2023. Latvia has accused Belarus of an act of provocation as there appears to be a coordinated plan to send migrants into NATO countries to act as spies.
Poland has also accused Belarus and Russia of an organised migrant movement, designed to infiltrate NATO countries.
Ukraine is reported to be holding ‘peace formula’ summits after the Jeddah summit, and one will be with Russia.
Russia has used two rockets that contained a poisonous substance near Novodanylivka. The chemical is reported to be chloropicin that was used in WW I and is not supposed to be used any longer
Russia continues to export stolen grain from Ukraine via Mariupol to Rostov-on-Don.
France has delivered SCALP missiles to Ukraine that can travel up to 290km. These are no the long range missiles that can travel up to 540km that have bene withheld.
Russia is holding election schools to brainwash youths in occupied areas such as Kherson. They have already re-written history textbooks justifying the invasion of Ukraine as the special military operation and the annexation of Crimea.
Day 532 (9 August)
In occupied Nova Kakhovka, the Ukrainians hit a Russian army command post. The strategy appears to be to target military buildings, outposts, ammunition and fuel depots, and also to disrupt the ability to transfer weapons to Ukraine by disabling bridges and railway lines.
Russia has been removed road signs in Ukrainian in the occupied areas. Liberating the land is one task, but then to rebuild the territory is another with people forced to take Russian passports or risk being imprisoned and with their homes being lost with Russian taking them or the property being sold to other Russians.
Italy suspends ‘gold visas’ to Russians and Belarusians which are investor visas. This comes after the recommendation was made a year ago by the EU.
A new Wagner camp has been set up in Belarus, 40km from the Ukrainian border near Chernihiv. The camp is being built in Zyabrovka airfield near Gomel.
A German military officer has been arrested under suspicion for spying for Russia. The man has been named as Thomas H, who dealt with military equipment and technology. Allegedly, he approached the Russians and offered his services at the Russian embassy in Berlin. He was arrested in Koblenz. Earlier this year, another German (Arthur E) was arrested and was said to have worked for the German intelligence service, but was alleged to have been spying for Russia.
Former Wagner fighters who had been released and pardoned after fighting in the war have been arrested for committing crimes again. Some of these crimes have led to murders and even Russians must look at the consequences of permitting criminals to have been pardoned only to commit heinous crimes.
Day 533 (10 August)
30 Leopard 1 tanks had been privately purchased from Belgian dealer Freddy Versluys (who acquired them from the Belgian army) and will be repaired and delivered to Ukraine on behalf of the German government. While that sounds ‘good’, the tanks are old, and it has taken more than a year for the tanks to be agreed to be sent to Ukraine.
A part of Georgia was occupied by Russia 15 years ago, and Crimea was annexed several years later. The world didn’t respond accordingly because it was Russia and that is why they invaded Ukraine, and if they are not stopped then they will continue to target former Soviet states until the USSR is reformed. This creates global instability and the international alliances need to act before more lives are lost and democracy is lost across the globe due to fear to stand up to bullies and to assist the victims.
A fire broke out at the Mozyr oil refinery in Belarus. Earlier intelligence had indicated that Russia was to stage a false flag incident here and to point the ginger at Ukraine, thus it would lead to Belarus justifying an attack on Ukraine.
A mandatory evacuation of 37 settlements (some are liberated ones) in Kharkiv has bene imposed due to Russian shelling and attacks. One wonders why people have remained when the war has been getting worse, and why they they didn’t leave earlier. Surely anywhere else would be better than living in a war zone?
Poland is increasing its border troops by 10,000 to protect the borders with Belarus and is considering closing border crossing points unless acts of provocation are halted.
Bacardi is designated as an international sponsor of terror as they continue to trade in Russia and paid $12 million on taxes to Russia, thus is helping finance the war.
