Russian Troops Include Members Of Neo-Nazi Groups
War Crimes ~ Soldier receives life sentence for killing an unarmed civilian
Day 89 (23 May)
Martial law has been extended until 23 August, this time which is 90 days as opposed to the 30 days that was signed off twice before in the Ukrainian parliament.
Poland and Ukraine have agreed bilateral agreements on border controls and reciprocal access to facilities for citizens in each country. This is a step towards the kind of EU integration that EU members offer each other, and while some critics will claim it is not so, and Poland should not be pushing for Ukrainian EU membership, Poland can do what it chooses to do. EU membership does not prevent them from opening their borders to other countries if they wish to do so, and they do not need permission either.
The Russian Imperial Movement and Task Force Rusich, have been involved in the invasion in Ukraine. Both are Neo-nazi groups, which renders the claim that Russia ‘went in to save Ukraine from Neo-nazis’ void.
Russian propaganda is now stating that Russia needed to enter Ukraine to ‘liberate the country from German, Anglo-Saxon, and Jewish colonisers’ because they believed it was their responsibility. Translation is below.
The US is considering sending in special troops to defend the US embassy in Kyiv. The Russians may however see this as a threat, but they don’t need any excuse to claim a US threat. The US should consider their own status, and that the have a right to defend their own people and territory, and an embassy on foreign ground is just that. If they feel that diplomats needs specific protection then they are entitled to have it.
Zelenskyy is to address Davos in Switzerland today, where there will be discussion on the Russian war crimes. At the World Economic Forum, Zelenskyy has urged those who are still doing business with Russia to cease as they are enabling and supporting Russia in attacking Ukraine. He reiterates that more weapons are needed, and if they had been received at the start of the war, many lives would have been saved.
In order to isolate Russia, he has requested the international community to do the following:
A full embargo on Russian oil (only possible when alternatives are in place).
All Russian banks barred from global systems and stronger sanctions.
No trade with Russia and to invest in Ukraine.
To provide more weapons, especially ones that have been requested.
For the world to unite so as not to let a ‘brute force rule the world’. I believe he is addressing the countries that have abstained from UN votes and those who have remained neutral.
Some companies are still trading in Russia, and Zelenskyy considers that this trading is propping up Russia and is funding the war against Ukraine. Therefore, he calls for all companies to cease trading in order to support democracy.
The Russia War Crimes House has been set up as an exhibition to highlight the alleged war crimes. Russia was not invited to Davos this year.
The first war crimes trial has resulted in a life sentence for the soldier who killed a 62 year old man who was on his phone while he was on his bike. Sgt Vadim Shishimarin was convicted of killing Oleksandr Shelipov, 62, in the north-eastern village of Chupakhivka on 28 February, and states that he was acting under orders. This contradicts claims from Russia that they have not targeted or killed any civilians. Shishimarin has asked the widow of his victim for forgiveness.
The latest news is that the soldier will appeal the verdict, but a life sentence was expected. This is supposed to serve as a deterrent to all Russian soldiers, but will it work? There are thousands of Russian soldiers who may or may not be guilty of the same crimes, but would this deter Putin? I think not. because Russia can claim to care about their citizens, but the truth is that all are expendable for Putin’s cause.
Russians who have not been brainwashed by the propaganda have been silenced through being prosecuted by the recent laws that speak out against the the Russian army, and who challenge the official line. The journalists trying to tell the truth have been banned, fined, and had their social media accounts flagged and blocked, and have been called ‘foreign agents’ of the state.
Ukraine will introduce a new law where they can seize the assets of those who back or supported the Russians, which can be considered treason. The cases will be held in the Supreme Anti-Corruption courts where the assets will become state property.
The procedure of identifying and confiscating the assets of sanctioned persons, who in one way or another support the aggression of the occupiers against Ukraine, will allow to quickly and effectively replenish the Ukrainian budget at the expense of enemies.
There are currently 100 million displaced Ukrainians due to the conflict, and the numbers look to rise with the increased attacks in the Donbas region. This is a long term humanitarian crisis, as many of these people have no home to go back to even after the war due to the destruction of cities and towns.
Starbucks is to leave Russia after 15 years.
Boris Bondarev, a Russian diplomat in the UN has handed in his resignation as he is ashamed of his country, due to an unprovoked and aggressive war.
So Russian Neo-Nazi soldiers invaded Ukraine to cleanse and liberate Ukrainians from colonizers, groups of people whom Russia doesn't approve of, because Putin believes it is Russia's responsibility to do so. When 100 million Ukrainians are displaced because of this war it does represent the humanitarian crisis it has been since February 24, 2022 - another date which will go down in history as a day of evil infamy.
