The last several days have been focused on the Hamas attack on Israel and the parallels drawn with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The conflict has been in the headlines around the world, and where the Jewish community are gathering around all corners of the world to protest.
The weather in Ukraine is turning cold and wet, and it will make battle all the more difficult and that was expected. The problem is that Ukraine doesn’t have sufficient weapons, but countries have donated aid to help with the upkeep of the energy infrastructure that will be targeted by the Russians as before. It’s a case of giving Ukraine the bandage because they know they’ll get hit soon. That of course is not ideal, and is the consequence of the allied countries procrastinating in supplying weapons to Ukraine.
Day 591 (7 Oct)
In Hroza, the death toll has risen to 53 people with 4 people still missing.
Russia is planning to reverse the participation in the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) according to a representative in Vienna. This means that they are perhaps seeking to test nuclear weapons by withdrawing from the treaty. Obviously this is not good news, because Russia has been using the nuclear weapons threat for a considerable length of time, and this may be further propaganda used as a threat towards the allied countries.
The US has sanctioned 42 Chinese companies that have supplied Russian defence companies with technology that originated from the US.
Reports claimed that North Korea is supplying Russia with weapons due to increased activity on the railroads. Satellite images have shown 73 freight rail cars travelling between North Korea and Russia over the past week.
Claims have been made that the Russians have shut down the own jets by accident, when Russian jets get confused with the Ukrainians in an effort to try and protect the Kerch bridge.
Russia has told citizens in the occupied territories that if they do not take a Russian passport, from 2024, they will not have any access to medical services. This is obviously to force people to relinquish their Ukrainian citizenship and become Russians because people are not doing so voluntarily.
Two Russian diplomats who worked in the Russian embassy in Washington DC have been expelled. This action was taken in response to 2 American employees being expelled from the US Embassy in Moscow in September.
Belarus held a meeting for foreign diplomatic representatives to show off 44 deported Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied regions in Luhansk. This is propaganda of course to try and show that the children had been ‘saved’ whereas they are likely to have been indoctrinated, having been separated from their families.
The countries allegedly represented include China, Cuba, India, Qatar, Mongolia, Russia, UAE, Syria, Palestine and Zimbabwe. Naturally, Belarus also attended, and officials from the camp, Commonwealth of Independent States.
The SBU has uncovered more corruption, this time in Odessa, where people paid $12,000 to avoid being mobilised. Instead, the men were given documents and false diagnosis, claiming they were unfit for military service, and were removed from the register.
Day 592 (8 Oct)
Russia has commented on the Hroza attack, claiming it was legitimate as it was a Nazi gathering, and that they were not civilians.
In temporarily occupied Mariupol, Russia has deployed 5000 reservists, obviously to try and prevent the Ukrainians liberating Mariupol.
Claims have been made that Russia gave Hamas weapons that they had captured in Ukraine as a false flag in order to discredit Ukraine. This is another attempt of Russian propaganda to try and point the finger at the Ukrainian military, accusing them of weapons provided by the US other allied countries being sold to Hamas.
The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting on the attack of Israel. It is unknown whether Russia and China participated in the talks.
Day 593 (9 Oct)
At the NATO, Parliamentary assembly in Copenhagen, Russia was announced for instigating a brutal war on Ukraine, and adopted the resolution, not that it really does very much except state that NATO supports Ukraine. At the same time, it was agreed that the only way to prevent another attack in Ukraine is for Ukraine to join NATO.
Due to the mines in the Black Sea, Turkey Romania, and Bulgaria are considering creating a joint task force to clear the mines.
Day 594 (10 Oct)
Zelenskyy visits Romania at the invitation of the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis. A bilateral agreement is signed to elevate the relationship between the countries to strategic cooperation. This means the countries will assist in security and defence issues, economic issues and also the training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16s
Romania has been assisting with the export of grain, and 60% of Ukrainian grain uses the Romanian corridor for transit.
Russia failed to gain enough votes to rejoin the UN Human Rights Council. Russian needed 97 votes and only received 83.
Intelligence claims that Russia and Belarus are planning a false flag operation by blowing up an oil depot in Belarus, and to blame Ukraine for the attack and to be able to label them as terrorists.
Reports claimed that Putin will not announce any mobilisation until after the March 2024, after the elections where he seeks to retain his position as president of Russia.
Bulgaria has uncovered a plot to export military equipment to Russia, by way of shipping to use equipment to Russia.
