Putin Reiterates His Plans For The Special Military Operation In Donbas
Victims in the mass graves in Izyum show evidence of torture
At the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation Summit in Uzbekistan, Putin has stated that he will continue to carry out the special military operation in the Donbas. The Russian nuclear forces have been on special alert since February, when the special military operation began. There is no indication that Putin has any plans to retreat or to stop fighting.
Other countries in Europe are stating that they should have done more when Russia annexed Crimea. Meanwhile, as graves are being exhumed in previously occupied areas of Ukraine reveal seen similar to Bucha. Bodies have been found with signs of torture, ropes have been found around the necks of some victims, and soldiers have been found in mass graves with their hands and feet bound. These are of course gruesome scenes that we should not be allowing in this day and age. This is why a peace deal where land is ceded would mean that all those live sacrificed were in vain.
Day 205 (16 September)
While the Ukrainian flag might have been raised in Izyum, the recently liberated city has unearthed mass graves that have exceeded 400 bodies, and where some graves contain several bodies. There is evidence of torture, gunshot wounds, ropes around the neck, and quite possibly more horrific war crimes. These people cannot die on vain—they died to defend their liberty.
The Ukrainian army
has so far discovered 10 sites where there is evidence that acts of torture have been carried out. Many of the sites have had to be de-mined, and the Russians set booby traps and mines around the graves and areas that they used for torture. This is to destroy evidence and also to kill those who came across the crime scenes
.
There have been explosions in Kherson which is still occupied in some areas by the Russians at present, where at least 5 missiles have bene aimed at administrative buildings.
Stotlenberg has said one thing that makes sense, and that the counteroffensive by Ukraine doesn’t mean the end of the war. Far from it, what it means is that the risks are greater now to retake the areas and then to keep the Russians out, and to flush out the proxies and collaborators that aided the Russians in the first place.
The Pope has finally spoken out, and declared that in his opinion, it was morally just and legitimate for the West to supply weapons and aid to Ukraine in order to defend itself from the Russian invasion. There have been calls for Pope Francis to speak out the defence of Ukraine earlier this year when the Russians invaded Ukraine. He has finally stated that the West is justified in assisting Ukraine in this unprovoked attack.
Germany has taken control of the Russian branch of Rosneft, that operates in Germany. This is a major energy supplier, and the Federal Network Agency has taken over to ensure supplies do not get disrupted. This is a major move as Russia has cut off energy supplies to Europe, claiming there is an oil leak. No further information has been given on whether the leak has been mended or not.
Belgorod, a city on the border to Russia and Ukraine has been reported to have have had explosions. The Russians are blaming the Ukrainians, and it might be a false flag again as the Russians are keen to stage such incidents to convict other states that they are victims.
A Ukrainian MP, Andril Derach has been reported to have received at least $560,000 from Russia as he has been exposed as a Russian agent who has organised a network of spies for Russia in Ukraine. He has now been arrested after being detained accused of treason.
Support from Europe continues as Roberta Metsola, the European Parliament president states that Ukraine needs to be supported and that Russia must be isolated. She spoke at the G7 speakers conference, but we hear these words all the time yet people cannot force of the states to impose sanctions against Russia
. She also reiterated that or war criminals must be held to account however realistically, we know that many perpetrators will never be caught and the total number of victims caught up in this unprovoked war may never be truly known. Perhaps the words serve as a warning to the Russians, but we know that the Russians really don't care what the west thinks? I imagine like many people, we are tired of hearing the same message from world leaders, where action is slow or promises take so long to be fulfilled. In the meantime, many people have died or have suffered waiting for the west to support them and to come to their raid.
Erdogan of Turkey has been speaking again, and has stated that he wants the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible and through diplomatic means. Loosely translated, that means he expects Ukraine to cede land to Russia in order for the war to end. Putin has already stated that he is not interested in any negotiations unless Ukraine agrees to his demands.
Zelenskyy has stated that he is willing to discuss negations to allow Russia to transport ammonia through Ukraine, in exchange for Ukrainian prisoners of war. While this might seem odd, as Ukraine has pushed for sanctions against Russia, there are countries like India who will continue to purchase raw materials from Russia, and Zelesnkyy wants his people back. The only way it to give Russia something they want, because they don’t care about their own army, where commanders have been known to kill their own of they want to leave the battlefield. Zelenskyy has informed the UN, perhaps out of courtesy because to be frank, the UN have been hopeless, but would perhaps facilitate such an arrangement and ensure safe passage for the prisoners or war?
The UN General Assembly has agreed to allow a pre-recorded message from Zelenskyy to be presented at the High-Level meetings of the 77th Session of of the UN General Assembly (77UNGA). Several states voted against this, Belarus, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, Nicaragua, Eritrea and Russia. There were abstentions too, which are those who aren’t willing to publicly show which side they support. These include Iran, Iraq, China, Algeria, Brazil, Pakistan, and South Africa. 101 countries voted to allow the address and 19 abstained.
This will be an opportunity for Ukraine to present their case as to why Russia must be stopped on an international scale, and to declare Russia’s actions as acts of terrorism. The speech is expected to be heard on 21 September 2022.
Day 206 (17 September)
Putin has met with the leaders of China and India at the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation Summit in Uzbekistan, where both have expressed concerns about the invasion of Ukraine. Both countries have indicated some support towards Russia by choosing not to impose sanctions against the country, but have stopped short of publicly supporting Russia’s actions in Ukraine. Putin has attended in a bid to gain support after the West has isolated Russia, but few are willing to publicly support Putin’s special military operation knowing that the US will support Ukraine until the war is won.
Putin used the opportunity to declare that his plans for the Donbas had not changed and that Russia will continue the special military operation, stating that the full force of the Russian army has yet to be used. This seems to serve as a warning, but contradicts the numerous reports from intercepted communications that Russian soldiers have a lack of equipment, are refusing to sign up, and some battalions have been ordered to retreat. Others have stated that the special military operation has no goal, and that there is a huge recruitment drive as soldiers have died and there are no troops to replace them. The age of soldiers has been raised to 60, but there are few takers and the minimum they can serve is three months, and with poor conditions.
Russia still refuses to call the invasion a war, which also means it will struggle to find soldiers willing to fight. While the world considers it a war, Russia has yet to officially state that they are at war with Ukraine.
Warships with Kalibr missiles are ready to attack. There are 4 in the Black Sea, 6 in the Sea of Azov, and 5 in the Mediterranean Sea. This means that Russia is not looking to negotiate or to retreat. What it looks like is that they are waiting for a reason or excuse to use the cruise missiles.
The current success of the Ukrainian counteroffensive may mean the Russians will carry out a series of false flag incidents . These will likely to be carried out in the occupied regions so that they can place the blame on Ukraine and is is possible civilians may get killed.
It is interesting that China and India are reluctant to publically endorse the Russian 'military operation' in Ukraine. False flags, weaponising energy and hunger are no surprise. It is disheartening the rhetoric around 'retrospect', Scholz (Germany), 'react more harshly to the annexation of Crimea.' Hindsight. Based on hindsight I think E.L. your statement warns the West not to follow up the Crimean mistake: " a peaceful deal where land is ceded would mean that all those lives sacrificed were in vain." Erdogan ( Turkey)pontificating negotiation, we know isn't about peace, but ceding land to Russia. The 'horrific war crimes' you note of mass graves and torture uncovered in territory liberated by Ukraine emphasize that Russia's 'military operation' is terrorism, especially since Russia hasn't officially declared war. Pope Francis's support for the Ukraine infers terrorism, "morally legitimate for nations to supply weapons to Ukraine to help the country defend itself from Russian aggression." It is time we stopped appeasing, placating behaviours that threaten and cause massive suffering, even death!
