Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died yesterday afternoon, aged 96 in Balmoral Castle. Zelenskyy, like other world leaders sent a tribute to the Queen and condolences. Putin also sent condolences to Charles.
The liberation of occupied areas in Ukraine continues around Kherson and Kharkiv. Over 1,000 kilometres of land has been liberated so far, including many small settlements that were trapped by the invaders. In Balakliya, residents tanked the army for liberating them after 7 months.
Reports claim that in occupied Moldova, a region called Transnistria, Russian troops have left the area which has a military base. Moldova was mentioned as the next target by the Russians and is still a vulnerable state. Air Moldova is resuming flights to Moscow for 1 October, in response to Moldolvian citizens wishing to leave Russia and to use tickets that bought during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Poland has joined Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in blocking Russian visas, preventing Russians to enter across the border. Finland is is now the last country that shares a border that would allow Russians into the EU.
Russia criticises the US over more aid being given to Ukraine, and has accused the US and the Europe or mounting a proxy war against them by supplying Ukraine with weapons.
A very small light at this time. It is so vital that Ukraine not become complacent but renewed and ever more determined to continue to fight for their freedom.
Thank goodness for great news that the Ukrainians are showing Putin that he underestimated their determination to fightback for freedom and sovereignty.
